Should You Use Non Epson Ink Bottles?
In the overly complicated world of printing, choosing the right ink can significantly impact your print quality and overall satisfaction. This blog delves into a detailed comparison between Epson OEM ink and Best Printers’ refill remanufactured ink. For those on the hunt for quality printing solutions, this analysis could guide you towards making an informed decision.
Introduction to the Ink Comparison
The Printer Guy, a trusted voice in printer reviews and tutorials, provides a thorough examination of how two types of inks perform on the same printer model, the Epson EcoTank 2400. This test aims to illustrate the differences in print quality using Epson’s own brand ink compared to Best Printers’ remanufactured ink. You can watch the full video here on YouTube.
Test Setup
For a fair comparison, identical settings and photo paper were used across two separate Epson EcoTank 2400 printers. One printer was exclusively used with Best Printers (Third Party) ink right from its initial setup, ensuring that the first ink to touch its system was from the third Party Ink. The other printer was loaded with Epson’s original ink. This setup was designed to provide a clear, unbiased comparison of ink performance in identical printing conditions. 3 separate phots were taken, below you will see the photos we printed with the two different types of ink.

Observations and Results
Visual inspection of the prints reveals a surprising similarity in quality. Despite using different inks, both printers produced almost identical outputs. Slight variations in color depth and brightness were noted, but these differences were minimal, making it difficult to declare a definitive winner based purely on visual assessment.
The Printer Guy notes that while there might be minor differences in lighting between the shots taken of the prints, the overall quality, from color accuracy to detail depth, was remarkably consistent. This suggests that both inks provide a high level of performance that meets the demands of everyday printing.
Practical Implications
For those skeptical about using third-party inks, this comparison shows that remanufactured/refill inks like those from Best Printers can compete closely with established brands like Epson. This finding is particularly relevant for printer owners looking to reduce their printing costs without sacrificing quality.
Conclusion and Recommendations
The close parity in quality between the Epson and Best Printers inks suggests that users have viable options beyond the branded supplies. This video review serves not only as a practical guide for those considering alternative inks but also reassures users that third-party options can indeed provide satisfactory results.
